Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare dough for bread according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Bake mixed doughs according to production schedules and quality standards, effectively managing time to ensure production targets are met on schedule.
  • Knead, divide, shape, and portion dough to meet production requirements.
  • Set up, operate and adjust machines (e.g., mixers, dough dividers, moulders, proofers, and ovens).
  • Monitor fermentation, proofing, oven temperatures and speeds, and baking processes to ensure they are according to the standard and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Gather ingredients from the warehouse in the necessary quantities according to the production schedule.
  • Scale ingredients according to the recipes and maintain records regarding lot numbers.
  • Record production information such as quantity, weight, size, date, and type of products made.
  • Check products for size, texture, appearance, quality, and defects to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain product quality standards and ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, GMP, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Clean equipment, utensils, and work areas at the end of shifts.

Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Three years of commercial baking experience is considered an asset.
  • Able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Good math skills.
  • Flexible schedule and able to work weekends.
  • Able to work in a dusty environment.
  • Able to perform lifting of 20 kg.
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hourly Rate: Starting from $20.20 per hour

Number of people to hire: 5
